Exhibition views of I can only be thought in relation to we, collective exhibition in Kurant, Tromsø, Norway, 28/05-14/06/2025
This installation consists of two video projections on transparent, see-through silk panels suspended from the ceiling at an angle to each other. The work is placed in a very dark room, the projections spill out of the screens and onto the walls, surrounding the viewer in an immersive way.
The videos chosen for this installation alternate between semi-abstract shots (close-ups of textures, blurry colored shapes, light flashes) and more representative images. Each one plays with the materiality of the silk in a different way: the footage of water seems to flow down the fabric for example. The soundtrack mixes field recordings with songs, it transports the viewer into different moods, refusing to explain the images.
